Parador Palmas de Lucía is positioned between verdant mountainsides and the deep blue waters of the Caribbean Sea, giving you easy access to inland and coastal activities alike. Beautiful ocean vistas and pristine waterfronts are two of the attractions Puerto Rico is best known for, and our hotel’s location ensures you’ll be able to enjoy plenty of both at the best Puerto Rico beaches. The beach is only 100 feet from our main entrance, and Cocal Beach, one of the island’s top surfing destinations, is located nearby.
Not only is our hotel close to the beach, it’s within convenient travel distance of Bioluminescent Bay at Laguna Grande in Faiardo and Vieques Island. Vieques Island, located several miles off the coast of Puerto Rico, features the world’s largest luminescent bay. The bay’s water glows whenever the water is disturbed because of a natural phenomenon. In order to swim in the waters you can book a Bio Bay tour through a local vendor.
Sometimes called Mosquito Bay, the Bioluminescent Bay at Vieques Island offers travelers an opportunity to view an ultra-rare natural phenomenon. The bay’s water glows neon blue whenever it is disturbed as a result of a combination of rare factors, including the presence of micro-organisms, red mangrove trees and a lack of modern development near the bay. You can find a Bio Bay tour that launches from Vieques Island, which is just a short distance from our hotel. Or embark on an unforgettable adventure on a kayak tour through the one-of-a-kind Laguna Grande and experience the breathtaking Bio-luminescent Bay.
The mainland of Puerto Rico offers plenty of ways to relax, among the most popular of which are its wide selection of virgin beaches. The pristine sands are unmatched by beaches elsewhere in the Caribbean, and some of the best Puerto Rico beaches sit just steps from our hotel.
The town of Yabucoa, just several miles west of Parador Palmas de Lucía, is a historic hamlet nestled in the hilly and tree-covered terrain of southeast Puerto Rico. Key attractions in Yabucoa include a historic sugar cane mill and a museum and cultural center celebrating the area’s rich history.
Located straight north of our hotel, America’s only national rainforest covers 28,000 acres of rugged terrain in the Luquillo Mountains. The park is home to thousands of native plants and hundreds of species of wildlife, many of which are unique to Puerto Rico. The forest draws 600,000 visitors each year. You can take an exciting adventure tour of hiking, rappelling and more in the foothills of El Yunque Caribbean National Rainforest.
