Parador MaunaCaribe is located in the Maunabo area, just a brief few steps or a short drive away from the key attractions in the two-century-old city. Our inn is also just several miles south of Yabucoa, giving you easy access to other beaches and historic attractions.
Maunabo Lighthouse towers above nearby beaches, sitting on formidable cliffs high above the sea. The lighthouse is open to the public from Wednesday through Sunday, and provides perfect views of the Caribbean.
Some of Puerto Rico’s best beaches surround the Maunabo Lighthouse. Los Bohios Beach is the most popular among visitors for its swimming options, while Punta Tuna Beach is protected as a sea turtle conservation zone. Los Pinos Beach is known for the unique black minerals in its sand.
A mountain range that runs west of our hotel, Sierra de Guardarraya climbs about 650 feet above sea level. With adequate planning, preparation and precaution, it is possible for visitors to climb the mountain or hike in the area.
Maunabo’s most popular city-wide party is Festi-Carnival Jueyero, which brings thousands of visitors to the town for three days of music, celebration, and most importantly, crab-based food products. The festival celebrates all things crab, including traditional Puerto Rican crab dishes.
